So 1.7 is out, and everyone is complaining.
But so far, I haven't seen the REAL problem being addressed.
I still have to use the awkward and stupid controller layout where left stick is both turning AND moving. LAVs got their upgrade with R2 accelerator and L2 brake, but tanks? NOPE. Still waiting.
(yeah, this is a comparatively minor thing, but it's something I've wanted a LOOOONG time now. |

So nobody else has anything to say about this?
Weird. I would have thought someone would have commented by now... |

For wheeled vehicles ONLY.
LAVs can do it, HAVs can't. That's the whole point of this thread. The control scheme exists in the game, but I'm not allowed to use it on my tank, and I would love to hear a good reason why I shouldn't be able to. When they first announced that the new control scheme would be coming, I was excited, because I had just started tanking, and I was looking forward to having a more sensible control scheme. But then the patch came, and tanks were excluded. I've tried several times to ask for it to be fixed, but it simply hasn't happened. |

However how would you map, the current version makes sense, they just need to allow left right turning a little faster. The current version makes no sense. Left stick for turning and movement, and NO OPTION TO SEPARATE THEM.
What I want is an altered version of the mapping that LAVs are able to use. Left stick for turning ONLY, right stick to look around and aim the turret, R2 for acceleration and L2 for reverse. R1 remains as the fire button, and they could move the module wheel option to X (preferably swapping the selection to the left stick while the button is held down). Alternatively, it could, like on LAVs, be moved to L1, and the zoom/aim function could become a toggle when clicking the left stick. |
